More About Your Host

Hello. That picture on the right is a more recent picture of me… yep, I’m getting older. I’d like to thank you for visiting my Short Term/Vacation Rental website and I hope you are reading this because you are either staying in one of my rentals, or you are considering it. Either way, I have done – and will continue to do – all that I can as a host to insure your current or upcoming stay is comfortable, pleasant and exceeds your expectations.

When you arrive, if you find anything amiss with the way your rental was described vs. what you have found in real life, PLEASE let me know what it is and I and/or a member of my support staff will correct it as soon as possible. In any event, my sincere hope is that THIS stay in one of my homes will be one of the best facilities and value for any vacation or short term business stay you have ever experienced!

If you’re interested, I share more about myself below which has some of my background and why it’s important to me that you receive the best of care and facilities while staying in one of my rentals. AND, if you are interested and can find the time, I and my wife, Joan, would love to spend some time with you. Perhaps we can meet at one of our favorite local restaurants to swap stories and get to know each other – but only IF you want. Let me know.

As for my personal background, I happen to be a proud U.S. Navy Air veteran and completed two consecutive combat tours from August of 1966 to May of 1969 flying daily missions out of the U.S. airbase at Da Nang, Vietnam.  During my two tours, I flew over a hundred reconnaissance sorties over South Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia and completed 135 night strike missions over North Vietnam. To this day I am eternally grateful to the men that worked night and day to support us and keep our planes flying, and to the men I flew and fought next to… some who will never return… and who will never be forgotten.

Any veteran who has been in combat will tell you,

the ones that didn’t come home are the heros

and the rest of us were not better at what we did…

just much more fortunate.

I am now a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW); a current member of the American Legion in Winter Park, and my age dictates that I now be considered a “mature” individual. I am also grateful daily for the great life I’ve had, my outstanding family and the exceptional people around me, past and present, that I have been blessed to know and learn from. I have now been a Realtor® since 2013. My wife and I live in Orlando near UCF where we occasionally play host to some of our 6 children and 6 grandchildren.

KU LogoI am an alumni of Kansas University (Aerospace Engineering and International Marketing) – thanks to the G.I. Bill and proud to be a fanatical follower of our perpetually excellent basketball team. GO JAYHAWKS! Prior to entering real estate, I spent 35+ years as a senior executive and consultant specializing in opening new international markets for several worldwide high-technology companies.

Besides my 9 years in the Navy, I’ve been employed by or consulted for: Xerox (U.S.); Telxon (U.S. & Latin America); Symbol Technologies (U.S.); Fujitsu (Japan & Latin America); Sumitomo Bank (Japan & Asia); Venture Manufacturing (Singapore, Far East, Australia and Europe); Baracoda (France & North America); and several others, signing government and private sector contract-manufacturing and high-tech service agreements – initially worth over $15B combined – in 37 countries on 4 continents.

I’ve also been a business owner. Soon after the breakup of AT&T in the mid-80’s, I founded a privately funded telecommunications company in Kansas  that provided domestic and international long distance services to all the Holiday Inns and La Quintas in the U.S. Through the hard work of an initial group of 5, we grew to more than 150 direct employees and built three international switching centers. Our company was eventually merged with Worldcom (MCI).

Yes, I am well-traveled and have lots of memories and stories about those treks. Plus, when I globe-trot these days, I use Airbnb everywhere I can.

If you’ve come to Orlando considering making it your home, I’d like to help. I hold the following designations:
